More About Our CompanyHeavy Duty Hydraulic Cylinder
If you’re looking for a cylinder that can stand up to the most challenging tasks, a heavy duty hydraulic cylinder may be precisely what you need. There are various types available, each with its own set of features. Understanding the different types and their uses is essential for selecting the right cylinder for your specific application. What is a heavy duty hydraulic cylinder, and what are its uses?
Heavy duty cylinder is a type of hydraulic cylinder that is designed for use in more extreme applications and can handle much greater weight and pressure than their standard counterparts and mainly used in:- Commercial industry
- Construction industry
- Mining industry
- Oil and gas industry
- Aerospace industry
- Material Handling industry
How does a heavy duty hydraulic cylinder work
One type of mechanical actuator, a hydraulic cylinder, is used to generate linear motion and force. Pressurized hydraulic fluid is the source of the force transmitted to the cylinder, where it is amplified before being transmitted to the load. The motion of the piston is transferred to the load through a rod attached to the piston. The rod can be either hollow or solid, and the piston can be either single-acting or double-acting. Single-acting cylinders only have one working chamber, while double-acting cylinders have two. It allows for bi-directional force, which is often necessary for industrial applications.Types of heavy duty hydraulic cylinders
There are four main types of heavy duty hydraulic cylinders:- Telescopic cylinders: Telescopic cylinders have multiple pistons that extend in a nested fashion, similar to how a telescope extends. They are used for heavy loads and can generate high levels of force (commonly used on dump trucks, garbage trucks, transfer trailers, etc.)
- Tie-rod cylinders: Consists of threaded rods that hold the end caps in place and can handle large amounts of pressure.
- Welding cylinders: Heavy wall tubing and welded joints give it added strength and durability.
- Mill-duty: With heavy bracing throughout for heavy application and rough conditions.
